IV. Chemical arms control and disarmament
The Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) contains a comprehensive and unequivocal prohibition of chemical weapons and warfare. As of December 2021, it had 193 states parties. Of the four states not party to the CWC, Israel has signed but not ratified it, and Egypt, North Korea and South Sudan have neither signed nor ratified or acceded to the CWC.1
