This, the 46th edition of the SIPRI Yearbook, reflects on a year in which mounting evidence suggested that the positive trend in the security environment in several regions and countries has been reversed. Concerns expressed in the 2014 Yearbook about a far-reaching transformation in the international security environment were reinforced. Producing a yearbook means trying to identify and document key developments, and analysing and placing in context important changes as they are taking place. It is a formidable task.
