On 3 September 2017 the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK, or North Korea) conducted its sixth nuclear test explosion, following tests conducted in January and September 2016, February 2013, May 2009 and October 2006.1 This 2017 test brought the total number of nuclear explosions recorded since 1945 to 2058.
