The 10th review conference of the parties to the 1968 Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) was held from 1 to 26 August 2022 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.1 The conference had originally been scheduled to take place in 2020, which would have marked the 50th anniversary of the entry into force of what is widely considered to be the cornerstone of the international non-proliferation regime. However, it was delayed four times because of the Covid‑19 pandemic.
