IV. Allegations of and reactions to chemical weapon use
This section discusses the ongoing investigations of previous allegations of chemical weapon use in Syria (2013–18) and follow-up actions in relation to the poisoning of Russian citizen Alexei Navalny with a novichok nerve agent in 2020, as well as multiple but unsubstantiated allegations of illegal chemical activities during the war in Ukraine in 2022.1
