SIPRI Yearbook 2013
Preface
It is with great pleasure and honour that I present the SIPRI Yearbook for the first time, having started as the eighth director of SIPRI in January 2013. SIPRI is, of course, one of the leading global think tanks analysing international security, conflict and peace. It is also a great team of dedicated researchers, and one of my biggest pleasures in the new job has been to get to know and to work with this outstanding group of experts. They work exceptionally hard to help many people, including the readers of the Yearbook, to identify and understand sources of insecurity, to prevent and resolve conflicts, and to sustain peace.

The SIPRI Yearbook online requires a subscription or purchase to access its full text (purchase of a print copy of the 2010-2016 yearbooks also provides access to some content). Unsubscribed users can however freely search the site and view the abstracts and keywords for each book and chapter.
